Qualifications

What are we looking for? Must possess general knowledge of traffic safety practices and pedestrian control procedures. Familiarity with standard safety equipment such as signage and hand signals is preferred. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and safety protocols related to pedestrian and traffic control on a military installation. Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods of time with high levels of vehicular and pedestrian activity. Must be able to recognize and appropriately respond to unexpected or emergency situations involving individuals or vehicles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, such as children, parents, and uniformed personnel. Must demonstrate good judgement to act calmly under pressure or in fast-changing conditions (i.e., adverse weather conditions, sudden traffic surges, or emergencies). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain post throughout shift.
