Job Description
This position is located at Defense Logistics Agency Richmond, VA Child Development Center. CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours) will receive a 100% discount on childcare for their first child and 50% for the second child. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Qualifications
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position, which directly relates to the appropriate CYS field consistent with: - For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled. 2. In addition to the basic requirements stated above the following is required: - 12 months of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position to be filled. - Experience in managing an entire cycle of operation of an early childhood program, including budgeting; facility management; supply management; program development; implementation; selection, training, and supervision of personnel; and curriculum oversight. - The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. - Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills. - Ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences. OR Combination of education and experience. 3. Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject matter field appropriate to the position as indicated above (1), and directly related work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described. - For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled. 4. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 2 years of Child and Youth Services Leadership or Child and Youth Experience? Functional knowledge of CYMS? Understand and articulate policies relating to patron fees, wait lists, and the registration process?
