Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Elementary/Secondary Education, Child or Youth Development, Special Education, or a combination of education (at least 24 semester hours) and experience, or additional course work, that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above At least 12 months of experience working in group programs with children or youth. Knowledge of child development principles, curriculum planning, and staff supervision. Must pass background checks, physical examination, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Additional Requirements: Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Must meet immunization requirements for working with children and youth. The incumbent serves as a mandated reporter as prescribed by local and Unites States Marine Corps (USMC) policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect. The incumbent has knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws governing the detection, prevention, and reporting of child abuse and/or neglect.
