Job Description
This position is in the Flight Program Operations (AJF) organization. The incumbent will serve as a Maintenance Controller responsible for providing on-call technical and logistical support to ensure the continued airworthiness and availability of a specialized fleet of FAA aircraft.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: - Experience in a Maintenance Control Center supporting: a 14 CFR Part 121 air carrier maintenance environment with scheduled service and a fleet size of 50 or more aircraft, OR a 14 CFR Part 135 air operator maintenance environment with a fleet size of 25 or more aircraft is highly desirable. - Experience performing diagnostics and technical evaluations on a wide range of aircraft components and systems to identify discrepancies and determine corrective actions and prioritizing workload and maintenance scheduling based on mission urgency, aircraft availability, regulatory requirements, and available resources. - Experience coordinating multiple concurrent activities and interact effectively with diverse audiences—including flight crews, maintenance personnel, contractors, and FAA leadership—to resolve complex operational and technical issues. - Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing failure modes in complex airframe, powerplant, and aircraft subsystems using technical manuals, schematics, and industry best practices AND In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a selective factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
