Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, Position Description Number T5636P01 and is part of the 106TH RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: - Skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; - Skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material; - Skill in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; - Ability to prepare reports and presentation formats. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-9: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. All personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Experiences gained through military technical training schools are included in the one-year on-the-job experience. Must have fundamental working experiences with a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. The applicant's educational degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. Must have experience and extensive knowledge of military pay and allowances, civilian pay and allowances, vendor payments, and travel entitlements. Experience with governing regulations and a thorough understanding of pertinent laws, regulations, and other technical criteria in order to determine propriety of entitlements and pay. GS-11: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. All personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Experiences gained through military technical training schools are included in the one-year on-the-job experience. Must have fundamental working experiences with a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. The applicant's educational degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. Must have experience and knowledge of related financial regulations and rulings covering diverse types of pay transactions to typically function as a technical authority for the resolution of an extensive range of issues or problems. Experience and knowledge of the overall DFAS mission and functions, operation, and relationships to other agencies to respond to special inquiries and task organizations for information and responses. Required Documents

You must submit an SF-50(s) that shows permanent career or career conditional tenure to be considered (No award SF-50 will be accepted). Your last Federal performance appraisal plan must reflect a rating of Fully Successful or equivalent. IF YOU ARE CLAIMING VETERANS' PREFERENCE, YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. - Veterans Preference Documentation: (include hyperlink as in example) -If you are a Discharged, Non-Disabled Veteran, you must submit a copy of your DD-214 showing character of discharge (Member 4 copy), or other Documentation of Service and Separation under Honorable Conditions, as listed on the SF15.
