Job Description
This position is located within the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department, Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, CT. The purpose of this position is to manage and supervise food and beverage operations.
Qualifications
Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate must possess: Two years of experience that demonstrates executive management skills involving planning, coordinating, and directing diversified food service operations. Must complete Controlling Alcohol Risk Effectively (C.A.R.E) Training or equivalent training. A thorough knowledge of business practices within the food and beverage industry and within MWR, along with the economic principles and ability to analyze trends and make improvements. Knowledge of MWR fund accounting methods, budgeting process, procedures and techniques used in maintaining, balancing and closing accounts in an accounting systems with extensive subdivision of accounts. Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, subordinates, vendor, and public. Knowledge of Navy policies, practices and regulations and the regulatory provisions applied to the budgetary process. Must have oral and written communication skills, and ability to evaluate, negotiate and determine potentially successful vendors. Ability to analyze numerous accounts and determine the need for, and the type of adjustments necessary to reconcile cost of good deficiencies and to increase profitability. Ability to operate computer systems and to obtain authorization to log onto the automated system.
