Qualifications

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of techniques for troubleshooting, removing, replacing, cleaning, repairing and installing a variety of parts, components and accessories. Skill to interpret and apply manufacturers repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics, diagnostic codes, computer printouts and safety manuals. Ability to troubleshoot and replace standard electronic components of systems. Skill in the use of hand/power tools and electronic test equipment. A valid drivers' license is required. RESPONSIBILITY: Work is performed independently based on personal knowledge, judgments and decisions within framework of oral and written instructions and accepted trade practices. Completes repairs with little or no check during progress or upon completion. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is often performed in tiring, awkward and uncomfortable positions. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling and crawling. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. WORKING CONDITION: Work may be performed inside or outside with exposure to varying weather. May be exposed to drafts, noise, fumes, dirt, dust, grease and vehicle fluids that can irritate skin. Must wear protective equipment. May come in contact with and be required to handle hazardous material/substances.
