Job Description
The Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for a Health Aid (Escort) in the Nursing Operations Department at Long Beach, CA. The primary purpose of this position is to perform, patient transport/escort services through the facility.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.10/16/2025 Basic Requirement: (must be in resume and transcripts) You may qualify at the GS-03 grade level based on your experience as described below. General Experience: (must be in resume) Six months of general experience; Maintains effective interpersonal relationship with patients, significant others and co-workers directed toward patient care. Must be proficient in answering phones/communication; Using a computer to retrieve clinical reports and respond to messenger service within a medical setting. OR Education: Successful completion of l year of study that included study in medical, health, or related fields. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Duties require extensive periods of standing and walking. Working with residents requires regular and recurring bending, lifting (not to exceed 35 pounds), reaching, carrying, stooping, stretching and similar activities.
