Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This National Guard position is for a Human Resources Specialist (Military), Position Description Number D1622000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing Kansas Air National Guard.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E3 through E7 Compatible Military Assignments: 3F desired * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: To qualify an applicant for the GS-0201 position, the applicant's competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors) that include military and civilian experiences, completed education, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments will be applied. The following seven basic qualification competency factors are applicable to the GS-0201 career levels: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication; Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. A basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. Physical Demands: Work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.
