Job Description
About the Position: This position is located at the Department of Defense Education Activity, Europe East Region Office in Sembach, Germany. Federal employees in Sembach, Germany are currently entitled to receive a 42% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Education Requirement: A minimum of a Master's degree is required. AND Specialized Experience Requirement (5 years): Specialized experience is experience gained as an instructor of a JROTC program through the implementation the JROTC curriculum as prescribed by the branch of service. Such experience includes leadership development, citizenship, military history, and physical fitness curriculum development. Conducting classroom lessons and facilitating hands-on activities. Mentoring cadets in leadership principles, teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence through practical exercises and leadership opportunities. Organizing and supervising physical fitness activities. Instructing cadets in drill and ceremony procedures. Providing counseling and guidance to cadets on academics, and personal or career matters. Planning and execution of JROTC events, competitions, and community service projects. Serves as a liaison between the school, the military branch sponsoring the JROTC program, and the local community. Engaging in ongoing professional development activities that enhance instructional skills, military knowledge, and leadership. Ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment. Demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service for JROTC at the middle school and secondary school level. AND Professional Licensure Requirement: Must be certified or certifiable for any DoDEA Instructor, JROTC teaching category (0325-Instructor Officer, Marine Corps; 0326-Instructor NCO, Marine Corps; 0327-Instructor Officer, Navy; 0328-Instructor PO, Navy; 0395-Instructor Officer, Air Force; 0396-Instructor NCO, Air Force; 0397-Instructor Officer, Army or 0398-Instructor NCO, Army). Physical Education and Fitness: Understanding principles of physical fitness, exercise physiology, and sports training. 5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Courses focusing on communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. 6. Counseling and Mentoring: Knowledge of counseling techniques, adolescent development, and mentoring strategies. 7. Ethics and Character Development: Courses that explore ethical decision-making, moral reasoning, and character development. 8. Technology Integration: Familiarity with educational technology tools and techniques for integrating technology into instruction.
