Job Description
You will serve as a LEAD EMERGENCY SERVICES DISPATCHER in the PROVOST MARSHAL DEPARTMENT of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for obtaining the necessary information various monitoring sources or individuals and dispatching police, fire and medical emergency services assets for Department of Defense DoD) installations, other Federal installations, and mutual aid to local, county, and state locations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Conditions of Employment continued: Incumbent must obtain and maintain certification within one-year after appointment in certified Criteria Based Dispatch and successfully complete Emergency Medical Dispatch Trainer course, NESCOM Course 3474 and all other training as assigned within the first year. Must be able to write and speak English clearly and distinctly so they are easily understood over the telephone and radio and written documentation is easily intelligible. An annual health assessment is required. The incumbent will be required to take medical examinations to assess his/her medical qualifications for duty involving work with exposure to high levels of stress present, have color vision adequate to distinguish between green, red, and yellow lights on alarm and equipment control panels and to read information from a multi-colored computer screen, and have adequate hearing for voice and tone. Position is subject to work an uncommon tour, rotational shifts, including requirements to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Be able to work shiftwork and rotational duty. Overtime will be occasionally required. Night differential and/or unusual duty hours will be regularly required.
