Qualifications

RESUMES MUST BE TWO PAGES (OR LESS). QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position. A bachelor's degree in dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by The American Dietetic Association that was conducted as part of the undergraduate program, or after completion of the basic requirements for a baccalaureate degree. In addition to the above, qualified candidates will possess: 1. Progressive experience in food service administration leading to management of a comprehensive nutrition program. 2. Demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. 3. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. 4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, such as developing and delivering formal written and oral presentations. 5. Demonstrated ability to evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with benchmark criteria and applicable policies and procedures. 6. Experience planning and conducting training for adults. Preferred: Management of a food service program specifically for children and youth (such as school dietitian, USDA CACFP staff, Army CYS Services Food and Nutrition Specialist, etc.); experience working at the region or HQ level; registered dietician. All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.
