Job Description

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number D2156000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. THIS IS A TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT NTE ONE YEAR. This announcement has 9 positions available.

Qualifications

Military Grades: ENLISTED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-6: Must have 1 year experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience using knowledge in the full range of security forces, police, and law enforcement services which requires considerable training, experience, and proficiency to perform the extensive range of operations in preventing or resolving offenses and in conducting preliminary investigations of incidents that range from simple violations to serious criminal attempts. Experience using knowledge of federal laws, regulations, methods, procedures, operating techniques, Air Force instructions, state, and local laws to perform tasks including, but not limited to pursuing and apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist arrest; identifying and arresting violators based on eyewitness accounts; performing dispatcher duties involving passing of directions and information to officers on patrol assignments; seeking, detecting, and protecting evidence and witnesses at the scene of an incident; detaining witnesses and suspects; force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism and physical security. GS-8: Must have 1 year experience equivalent to the next lower grade that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

You must submit an SF-50(s) that shows permanent career or career conditional tenure to be considered (No award SF-50 will be accepted). Your last Federal performance appraisal plan must reflect a rating of Fully Successful or equivalent.
