Recreation Aid (Lifeguard)

Job Description

This position is located in the Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Branch, of the Community Services Department, Community Support, Commander Navy Region Korea. The primary purpose of this position is to function as a lifeguard responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons using the respective swimming pool to which assigned.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate possess the following: Understanding of and ability to enforce rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers. Must have tact and diplomacy and the ability to relate well with patrons. Must be able to understand both oral and written instructions provided by supervisor. Knowledge of emergency water safety procedures, policies, written instructions and directives. Ability to use equipment to take pool readings. Dexterity to handle a person in the water who may panic or be unconscious.
