Job Description

This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Fitness Center on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures following in group activities or programs: and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of sports or fitness. Must demonstrate knowledge of utilization and operation of basic fitness equipment. Must have basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of proper cash handling procedures and the ability to operate a cash register is desirable. The ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers. Must successfully complete requirements to attain a group exercise leadership certification in accordance with AFl 34-266. Must possess a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and basic first aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Must complete the AETC Fitness Fundamental Course within 180 days of assignment. Must successfully complete a physical Training Leader course taught by the Fitness Program manager within 120 days of assignment. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. Must be able to read, speak, and write English and communicate effectively with patrons. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 background investigation.
