Job Description
This position is located in the Liberty program, Recreation Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at FLEACT Sasebo Japan. Incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Liberty Manager and is responsible for the routine daily operations of the Liberty Center and planning and execution of monthly calendar of events. This is a revised vacancy announcement.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate possesses the following: Knowledge of goals, principles, techniques and methods of recreation procedures used in organizing, planning, administering and conducting leisure time activities. A combination of experience related to customer service and/or activity-based programming. Knowledge of the entire scope of activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages, and interest. Ability to solve problems that arise from dealing with large, diverse groups of people. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to create, negotiate, implement, and sustain partnerships via Liberty Center agreements. Knowledge of constraints placed on the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs and the ability to utilize resources effectively. Ability to interact effectively both orally and in writing with facility users, other staff members and supervisors, using tact and courtesy to accomplish assigned tasks. Ability to communicate effectively in explaining Liberty procedures and policies to patrons. Ability to represent the department and speak in front of both small and large groups. Ability to assist in the marketing of programs and to motivate patrons. Ability to evaluate participant response to activities and the extent to which the activities are meeting their goals and objectives. Must be able to obtain a government driver's license for an automobile and 10 passenger vans. Must be able to maintain valid CPR and First Aid certification.
