RECREATION SPECIALIST (OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES)

Job Description

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Davis-Monthan Outdoor Recreation. This position is a Regular Part Time. Regular-part time positions are guaranteed 20 hours but may work up to 40 hours per week and are entitled to benefits such as health, life insurance, 401k, and retirement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience that provided a knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation, and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Specialized experience: experience that demonstrated the ability to apply the principles of one or more specialty areas of recreation. Qualifying specialized experience includes planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating recreational programs/recreational curriculum; instructing in the principles/techniques of recreational program planning and management. --OR-- Education: Possess an undergraduate (associate or bachelor's degree) or graduate (Masters' degree) in general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation or physical education. In addition, possess strong organization and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
