Job Description
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking a proven engineering or architecture executive to serve as Assistant Superintendent, Facilities Operations Division for the Senate Office Buildings. This high impact leadership role is responsible for managing, executing, and delivering complex building operations, modernization programs, and multimillion-dollar construction initiatives that preserve the Hart, Dirksen, and Russell Senate Office Buildings.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-15 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience in the following areas: Managing and executing complex facilities operations or modernization programs for large historic or commercial facilities. Providing supervision and leadership in guidance to engineering-architect and facility operations and maintenance staff. Planning, formulating, and executing operating and capital budgets; preparing budget justifications. Representing an organization on technical matters at high-level meetings concerning impacts on normal building operations.
