Job Description

This position is located in Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, HQFDNS Systems Integration Division. As a Supervisory Statistician, you will advise management and provide statistical advice on programs impacting organizational activity regarding key agency programs of major interest or having significant impact on the agency's mission.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2025. Basic Requirements: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements: (Must be supported in Transcripts from an accredited institution, Resume and/or Applicable Certificate) Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing. or Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a)sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. Selective Placement Factor: YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE USING PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES SUCH AS SQL, R, PYTHON, SAS, SPSS, OR STATA TO CONDUCT STATISTICAL ANALYSES, QUERY, OR INTEGRATE DATA SETS. THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE CLEARLY DOCUMENTED IN YOUR RESUME. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Drafting data analysis to effectively communicate findings to nontechnical audiences; Collaborating with program subject matter experts on a wide range of statistical research projects to identify solutions; Implementing statistical methods that include using statistical software to process and analyze the data; and Leading teams engaged in a variety of data analysis or statistical projects that evaluate programs or procedures.
