Job Description
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (COMSEC), Position Description Number T6331000 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Specialized experience includes experience, education and training that provided knowledge of communications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media; knowledge of electronic communications concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards, and operational requirements; application of specialized communications methods and analytical techniques; technical knowledge of the operational and performance characteristics of communications equipment, automated control and network management systems, transmission media, and the relationships among component parts of telecommunications systems; and competencies in the subject matter or business processes associated with the DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force telecommunication programs.

Former Federal Employees separated from Federal Government over a year ago: Your separation Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50 or equivalent) showing your permanent status and your last Federal performance appraisal plan/rating. You must submit an SF-50(s) that shows permanent career or career conditional tenure to be considered (No award SF-50 will be accepted). Your last Federal performance appraisal plan must reflect a rating of Fully Successful or equivalent. If you are claiming ICTAP eligibility you will be required to submit supporting documentation to validate your claim of ICTAP eligibility such as a Reduction in Force (RIF) separation notice or a Proposed Removal/Separation notice and a copy of your latest Notification of Personnel Action, Standard Form 50. IF YOU ARE CLAIMING VETERANS' PREFERENCE, YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. - Veterans Preference Documentation: (include hyperlink as in example) -If you are a Discharged, Non-Disabled Veteran, you must submit a copy of your DD-214 showing character of discharge (Member 4 copy), or other Documentation of Service and Separation under Honorable Conditions, as listed on the SF15. If you don't have your DD-214, you may request it after discharge from the National Archives. -If you are a veteran within 120 days of discharge, you must submit signed documentation from the Armed Forces certifying: 1) your expected release/retirement from active duty, 2) under honorable conditions, 3) your pay grade/rank/rate at time of discharge, 4) dates of active duty service, 5) any campaign or expeditionary medals received 6) dated within 120 days of your separation. -If you are a Disabled Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient, or Mother or Spouse of a Disabled or Deceased Veteran, you must submit all additional proof required by the SF15, and if applicable, a completed SF15.
