About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child Development Center, Beale AFB, CA. This is a temporary position, not to exceed September 30, 2026.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Successful completion of an undergraduate degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 hrs) in child development or early childhood education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled consistent with position in CDC (or a combination of education and experience). Appropriate experience and course work must be comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study as described above. Knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, and practices of early childhood development encompassing infant through school-age youth and child development theory, methodology, and practices. Knowledge of childcare regulation requirements and policies. Skill in developing curricula which supports physical, emotional, social, cognitive development, and identifying children with special needs. Skill in developing, adapting, and providing training to staff members, family childcare providers, and parents as well as food service and custodial staff. Skill in the administration and interpretation of the environmental, program, and child abuse probability assessments. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. Must meet specific physical requirements, must pass a physical examination and have required immunizations. Must be able to lift 40lbs or more and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate, and satisfactorily complete installation, state and national criminal background checks. Must satisfactorily complete mandatory training as specified below. Must possess maturity and good judgment and like working with children/youth and their parents. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use."
