What you'd do
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. You will serve as the Combat Acoustics & Product Integration Branch Head (DN33) in the Combat Systems Readiness Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA).
Major duties
You will manage the branch and provide leadership and supervision to approximately forty (40) scientists, engineers, and technicians. You will maintain and operate a land-based test site. You will provide In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) and installation support for the AN/SQQ-89 sonar system. You will be responsible for the leadership of an organization that conducts a broad spectrum of engineering and scientific projects managed by various Navy program offices, DoD or other government agencies. You will provide representation to and coordinate with customers and sponsors, and participate, as required, in various division, department, and corporate activities. You will be responsible for accomplishing the mission (including product development and process improvement) of the branch and for managing the resources and administrative systems. You will execute and participate in required technical or financial reviews of assigned programs. You will use judgement to interpret regulations and policy, and determine the most appropriate approach for complex problems, while coordinating projects across varied organizations and agencies.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-5 pay band (GS-13 and GS-14 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating or conducting technical engineering work in support of the development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service sustainment of Navy systems.
