What you'd do

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Comptroller Department (01), Accounting Division (012), Corporate Financial Accounting Branch (0121) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. ***Open to applicants at Current Organizational Code - 01, UIC 00164 (includes divisions, branches, sections.)

Major duties

You will serve as Financial Accounting Lead in the Corporate Financial Accounting Branch and will lead the Financial Accounting team. You will perform financial analysis in relation to execution, indirect, service cost center, revenue, and net operating result in collaboration with the Corporate Budget team. You will represent the Accounting Division on various Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) teams and strive to address audit findings. You will work closely with Department Financial Leads, project analysts, supervisors, and Business and Financial Management (BFM) personnel to perform necessary analysis of financial items. You will ensure accurate reporting of financial items for the monthly business meeting. You will ensure products align to NSWC Crane’s strategic goals and objectives while striving to utilize continuous improvement and digital transformation methods to provide better products and services. You will lead the Financial Accounting team in the timely completion of period end/quarter end/year end close of NSWC Crane’s financial statements.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: executing and analyzing financial transactions to ensure compliance with financial management regulations.
