What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the COLUMBIA Class Submarine Project Office of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING GROTON.

Major duties

You will provide program and technical management, configuration management, and Production Assurance for the Columbia Class (CLB) Submarine project. You will perform and/or direct the full range of design, planning, ship acquisition, and construction assembly planning and execution, manufacturing, and related functions for the Columbia Class Project. You will formulate unique policies and approaches for Columbia Class Submarine Project Office. You will review analysis, and interpretation of Program Executive Office Submarines (PEO-SUBS) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) programmed goals and objectives. You will coordinate and host meetings and negotiations with industry officials to develop joint programmatic technical approaches to various program elements. You will review and analyze all formal technical, planning, schedule, and dataset documentation associated with CLB Submarine detail design phases, construction planning, and construction execution. You will review engineering evaluations of contracted facilities, equipment, and processes relative to contracted design, manufacturing, and CLB schedule construction requirements. You will review Navy generated proposals, including Engineering Change Proposals, for overall design and production engineering impact and action. You will manage and provide contract direction of work packages to be performed, and correct problems encountered in post-construction testing.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance on the design, planning, ship acquisition, or construction planning and execution for a submarine project to ensure schedule requirements and quality standards are met.
