What you'd do

You will serve as an ENGINEER in the ELECTROMAGNETIC SIGNATURE TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT BRANCH of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Major duties

You will ensure that Division 74 (D74) Radio Frequency (RF) measurements efforts are executed with technical excellence and scientific rigor, with particular attention to appropriate RF measurement system configuration. You will assist D74 Branch Heads in workforce development, to include recruiting, acquiring, mentoring, and retaining quality engineers within the core competency areas. You will advocate for continued maintenance and improvement of existing D74 RF systems, as well as acquisition of new systems to meet emergent needs. You will participate in strategic thinking for maintaining and expanding the technical health of D74. You will originate research approaches, methods and procedures; serving as team or site manager for research projects that include extensive analysis work; negotiating agreements on controversial issues or results. You will serve as a technical expert with full responsibility for planning, designing, organizing, directing, coordinating and assessing test and evaluation programs/projects/studies, in the area of full-scale dynamic RCS trials. You will coordinate work of other engineers by identifying and reporting potential problems, analyzing and determining problem and recommending changes to correct deficiencies.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer: Applying radio frequency (RF) engineering principles to plan, execute, or analyze signature measurement events for military vehicles, vessels, or aircraft. This includes developing test plans, configuring measurement equipment, and interpreting data to assess electromagnetic signatures; Participating in technical working groups to define RF measurement requirements for defense-related projects. This involves collaborating with project stakeholders, such as government sponsors or engineering teams, to establish test objectives and success criteria. Contributing to research or development efforts aimed at improving RF measurement systems or techniques.
