MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (OA)
What you'd do
You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (OA) in the NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.
Major duties
You will support efforts to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the organization. You will maintain individual training folders and track training records for assigned personnel. You will create reports using various computer systems and spreadsheets. You will receive visitors and telephone calls, providing information on routine or procedural matters. You will schedule meetings, make arrangements for space, distribute agendas, and notify participants of time and location. You will effectively interact with Internationals Military Students from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds to provide customer service and office support. You will identify requirements for and coordinate procurement of office supplies using various online workflow processes. You will maintain office equipment accountability and validate workflow processes including student management systems for foreign student admission processes.
What you need to qualify
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluates information concerning staffing processes to provide accurate personnel/workload information and recommend action for workload scheduling shortfalls; 2) Validates timecard/timekeeping information for civil service, contract and military personnel; 3) Maintains training folders and ensures entry of information into computerized databases for all personnel assigned; 4) Prepares correspondence using correct grammar and spelling, format and procedure; 5) Provides administrative and clerical support to various senior civilian and military personnel as needed. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintains administrative data files; 2) Uses office automation tools to create, format, and edit documents; 3) Provides customer service and support; and 4) Maintains supervisor's calendar and daily schedule. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
