Major duties

You will serve as an authoritative source of operations research information and advice within the organization. You will initiate, formulate, plan, execute, and applies new techniques, as well as original methods, to analyze important and unusual problems and to meet study objectives. You will define and conduct auxiliary research studies needed to collect all relevant data and properly analyze the assigned problem. You will identify and acquire data from relevant sources, repositories, and organizations that are relevant to a specific line of research. You will conduct or direct the preparation and manipulation of data in a manner that it suitable for the analysis required for the research.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing operations research, cost estimation, statistics, and other quantitative techniques to develop custom approaches, methodologies, and study assumptions for required analyses. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
