OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT
What you'd do
You will serve as an Office Automation Assistant in the Facilities Support Contracts Branch, Public Works Division, G-F Department of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Major duties
You will perform a variety of assignments using the advanced functions of one or more spreadsheet and/or database software packages to manipulate data. You will develop methods for automating administrative and special reports, graphical representations using a variety of software packages You will determine the type of software to be used for a specific job. You will establish categories and formats and set up detailed functional procedures needed to enter and retrieve the data in the form needed for the report. You will use the full range of functions, including advanced processes, of one or more word processing software applications to produce technical documents. You will consolidate information for various reports in accordance with established procedures and deadlines. You will serve as the Trusted Authority (TA) for Base Maintenance contract employee identification cards.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-06 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Developing and maintaining various spreadsheets, setting up proper format and categories to effectively organize and manipulate data; 2) Developing and/or reviewing office automation procedures to insure efficient information administration; 3) Typing, editing, formatting and printing a wide variety of documents for office staff, including correspondence, technical reports, organizational proposals and justifications, technical notes and similar material in accordance with established guidelines and procedures; and 4) Performing a variety of assignments using the advanced functions of one or more spreadsheet software packages to manipulate data. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
