QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING)
What you'd do
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the ENGINEERING & ANALYSIS DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Major duties
You will provide proper disposition of nonconforming materials and products, assure disposition meets the requirements of quality standards. You will be inspecting, reviewing, and evaluating the procedures, documents, and materials. You will report to responsible parties all discrepancies discovered during the certification process. You will be making decisions under pressure and to converse authoritatively on the action taken.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Experience applying foundational quality assurance procedures, techniques, and production methods in an industrial environment (such as shipbuilding). - Experience assisting in the investigation of nonconforming materials and gathering data to help determine root causes. - Experience assisting with the preparation of reports and correspondence related to quality control (e.g., Defect Material Reports (DMR), Reports of Discrepancy (ROD)). - Experience managing and maintaining computer and paper-based record systems for material certifications, including initiating, updating, and archiving records.
