What you'd do

You will serve as a Supervisory Technician in the Test and Evaluation Management Division, Combat Systems Test and Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER Port Hueneme Division.

Major duties

You will be responsible for managing and directing the work of government engineers and technicians, military, and contractors for major shipboard, land and sea-based test events. You will provide sponsors a focal point for the technical expertise and leadership in Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Combat System Ship Qualification Trials and SSDS Weapon System (land and sea-based testing). You will perform project management for branch test projects and tasks, manage, and utilize branch personnel to accomplish the quantity and quality of work expected within set limits of cost and time. You will identify requirements, estimate costs, develop and negotiate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Task Planning Sheet (TPS), and manage, monitor, and track funding. You will develop employees, assess workforce health, and perform succession planning You will investigate combat system and test and evaluations issues, concerns, and problems and work to resolve it. You will be responsible to contribute to the development, maintenance or evolution, and execution of Command policies, strategies, and initiatives in support of today's mission as well as the evolution of mission to support tomorrow's warfighters.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading test and evaluation projects and work groups to develop engineering solutions, collaborate with project leaders, and coordinate project resources for a naval combat or naval weapon systems program.
