What you'd do

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT/OA) in the TALENT ACQUISITION AND STAFFING DIRECTORATES EAST of OFFICE OF CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS. Additional Office of Civilian Human Resources (OCHR) Operations vacancies may be filled by this announcement, everyone who is eligible and qualified are encouraged to apply for consideration for this position and for future vacancies that this announcement may cover during the life of the certificate.

Major duties

You will review personnel requests to determine the nature of action and source of candidates and clear all mandatory placement programs, drafts job analyses, develops/posts vacancy announcements, rates applicants, and updates event codes. You will extracts and transmits the information to electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) and consolidate dates in files for employees who have transferred from other agencies to ensure leave, retirement and other information accrues accurately. You will process, code and complete the full range of recurring personnel actions, determining the nature of action, the authority and appropriateness of the source of the candidates. You will apply pay setting rules for general schedule and federal wage system employees, and reviews demonstration activity pay setting documents for adherence to regulatory requirements. You will review Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) for accuracy and completeness and ensure that documents necessary to support the requested action. You will perform miscellaneous support work using office automation capabilities to type a variety of documents, pulls and disseminates staffing reports, establish and maintain case files, and participates in special projects.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing support to senior human resources staffing specialists or other administrative professionals; using office automation systems (such as personnel databases) to enter and retrieve data; gathering and analyzing basic facts to resolve questions regard HR work or other similar professional fields.
