About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Fort Dix Aquatic Center, Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Major duties

Assists the Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Aquatics) the Chief, Outdoor Activities Program, in the economic and efficient operation of the Aquatics facilities and supporting activities in accordance with established procedures. Performs a wide variety of complex clerical and administrative duties, including circulation among patrons to assure adequate service is provided, receiving and resolving customer feedback to include positive and negative commentary, and aiding in the upkeep of facility timesheets within the Services Employee Timekeeping System (SETS) in the absence of the Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Aquatics) and the Chief, Outdoor Activities Program. Issues, receives, and controls cash receipts and change funds; verifies cash count of funds turned in by cashiers. Determines cash shortages and overages. Assures only authorized patrons utilize the facilities. Processes incoming merchandise received for pricing, inventory posting, and display. Records and maintains all sales activities of the Aquatics facilities, snack bar, and gaming area. Monitors inventory to ensure availability and prepare sales records. Provides daily, monthly, and annual sales records to management. Capable of providing accurate information and general instruction regarding facility and equipment usage to ensure protocols are met. Maintains record of and aids in lifeguard training. Plans and prepares marketing request forms to provide to FSS Marketing for ongoing recreational activities, special events, social activities, and other related functions. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work that demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Must have a working familiarity with routines and procedures followed in the group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and /or experience of recreational activities and equipment rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. A practical knowledge of the Aquatics recreational activities, rules, procedures, and basic skills in the use and maintenance of related equipment is desired.
