What you'd do

You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the IE & PI Branch, Code 986, Production Engineering & Facilities Division, Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will advise management and/or production officials on the most effective standards, processes, methods, systems, procedures, and type or form of organization to be used in accomplishing mission and goals. You will analyze management problems and initiate productivity studies to provide alternatives. You will analyze manpower requirements for the operation or organization to provide advice on the most appropriate distribution of manpower resources. You will analyze systemic feedback control (operational analyses) covering program status and effectiveness to provide input to management planning and scheduling. You will perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to qualify

FOR GS-12 LEVEL - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying engineering principles and theories related to industrial engineering equipment, material handling equipment and systems. Experience planning and accomplishing conventional assignments requiring some adaptation and interpretation of standard practices, criteria, regulations, and procedures. Experience working with equipment, structures, and systems of other engineering disciplines applicable to industrial facilities and material handling equipment (MHE). Experience researching and applying methods, techniques, requirements, and developments for industrial material handling equipment and systems. FOR GS-11 LEVEL - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying basic engineering principles and theories related to industrial engineering equipment, material handling equipment, facilities and systems. Experience assisting with planning and accomplishing conventional assignments requiring some adaptation and interpretation of standard practices, criteria, regulations, and procedures. Experience operating computer applications and database software.
