What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the AUTONOMOUS TECHNOLOGIES of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Major duties

You will be responsible for supervision, planning, and coordination of all personnel and facilities assigned to the Branch. You will advise, administer, and support Information Technology (IT) systems. You will plan and execution support for U.S. Navy Information Technology (IT) Systems. You will lead the development of IT sustainment policies, processes, and contracts across the enterprise, in compliance with approved Defense and Navy policies. You will apply ISR Department and Center IT policies, procedures, and requirements in their IT decision making. Selectee will provide advice and guidance on a wide range of ISR topics and participate in Center and external IPTs.

What you need to qualify

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: As a technical supervisor, the selectee shall be responsible to the Head of Autonomous Technologies Division for coordination of management of all projects within the Branch, including task proposals, task agreements, financial and technical status reporting, and future task planning. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: The selectee works with each member of the branch to develop their respective annual STRL Contribution Plans, conducts and documents their performance reviews, and makes compensation recommendations to the sub pay pool & pay pool manager. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Selectee will also be required to interface with management and technical personnel from other laboratories, government agencies, and program sponsors. Selectee should be capable of interfacing with high-ranking military and civilian management personnel. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Selectee will lead the development of IT sustainment policies, processes, and contracts across the enterprise, in compliance with approved Defense and Navy policies. Selectee applies ISR Department and Center IT policies, procedures, and requirements in their IT decision making. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 or pay band NM-04 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Leads in providing research, analysis, systems engineering, design, development, and/or test and evaluation using innovative methods to ensure state of-the-art surveillance systems are delivered to Department of Navy (DoN) and Intelligence Communities (IC) programs.
