Major duties

You will serve as an Electronics Engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division. You will apply engineering principles to design, analyze, test, and verify analog or digital electronic devices and systems. You will prepare documentation covering product requirements, system specifications, and maintenance procedures. You will test and inspect the reliability and safety of electronic devices and systems, analyze data, and evaluate equipment performance under varying conditions. You will evaluate system performance and recommend design modifications or equipment repair to improve performance and meet cost objectives. You will integrate new or experimental electronic equipment into existing systems. You will provide advice and technical expertise for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic systems.

What you need to qualify

TO QUALIFY FOR ND-4: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer performing engineering work involving electronic circuits, circuit elements, equipment, systems, and/or associated phenomena. TO QUALIFY FOR ND-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-2 pay band (GS-5 through GS-8 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer assisting in engineering work involving electronic circuits, circuit elements, equipment, systems, and/or associated phenomena. TO QUALIFY FOR ND-2: You must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study as described in the Education section of this flyer. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
