What you'd do
This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Integrated Technology Division (ITD). The incumbent will be responsible for delivering comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services-including business applications, artificial intelligence (Al) integration, commercial cloud support, facilities and building records, data analytics, and cybersecurity-to advance the effectiveness of FSD functions.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Directs the management, integration, and centralization of enterprise data assets, applying modern Machine Learning and Large Language Model principles to drive system interoperability and create authoritative, single-source data repositories. Manages the complete lifecycle of all IT hardware and software assets, ensures compliance with federal and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, and serves as the primary liaison between functional areas and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for business IT systems. Formulates and executes the comprehensive AI Strategic Plan, defining the long-term vision for data modernization, and serves as the principal expert for assessing complex data architectures and harnessing AI to optimize business intelligence and process automation.
What you need to qualify
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to GS-14. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Applying Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Model (LLM) principles to drive system interoperability and AI-driven analytics; 2) Directing the development, experimentation, and training of data models for AI solutions; and 3) Providing authoritative guidance to stakeholders on implementing autonomous AI solutions and ensuring adherence to ethical AI guidelines. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
