What you'd do

Major duties
Operates primarily straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approximate GVW of more than 32,000 pounds and/or truck tractors with semitrailers or full trailers to transport personnel or pick up and deliver supplies, materials or equipment. Ensures shipping and accounting documents are with the shipment and reflect actual condition, quantities and type of material. May perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment, loading and unloading of trucks; storing and pulling warehouse stock; packing and unpacking material; and repairing or replacing items on equipment. May perform a variety of extensive servicing and light maintenance work on assigned vehicles. Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify
MILITARY GRADES: E-5 through E-7 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: **74D, 92Y, 92G, 92A, 42A, 88M, 88N, 92R** GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds. Experience demonstrating ability to operate truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches. Experience operating vehicles over a variety of roads including interstate highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades. Experience driving vehicles without mishap in complicated traffic situations. **FWS POSITIONS ONLY**: Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed at least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented. Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
