CONTRACT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (SPK10) of SWFLANT KINGS BAY. This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-2 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-05 to GS-11. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 - GS-13.
Major duties
You will provide strategic weapons and strategic weapons system (SWS) support to the fleet and other designated activities, and to perform other such functions and tasks as may be directed by higher authority. You will serve as a Government Purchase Card (GPC) cardholder to timely execute and manage micro-purchases and related transactions, ensuring all purchases are authorized, properly documented, reconciled, and fully compliant. You will support the maintenance of procurement and contract files in accordance with governing regulations. You will coordinate with technical personnel to obtain necessary inputs and reviews; assisting in communicating government positions to contractors; and ensuring all documentation complies with contract requirements and established procedures. You will collect and organize data related to pricing, contractor performance, and compliance. You will assist in identifying procurement issues or trends and supports the development of standard operating procedures.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the Basic Education Requirements of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
