Program Analyst (Mitigation)
What you'd do
You will serve as a Program Analyst for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience (ODR&R), Disaster Policy, Planning, Partnerships, and Public Affairs Division (DPPPPD). This position is responsible for providing input on a variety of analytical issues including long-range planning, program development and implementation, and program analysis and evaluation.
Major duties
As a Program Analyst (Mitigation) at theGS- 0343-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Provide input on program issues including long-range planning, program development, and program and policy implementation. Aid in analytical matters including strategy development and policy implementation. Review, analyze, and evaluate external and internal reports, policies, and procedures and develops new information about the subject studied. Analyze disaster declaration laws and policies and develop agency-wide frameworks, goals, and procedures to strengthen disaster assistance and resilience efforts. Develop, cultivate, and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external partners to support disaster recovery and resilience initiatives.
What you need to qualify
GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: Analyzing and evaluating disaster recovery or resilience programs; and Interpretation of laws, regulations or policies and providing guidance on how these impact organizational programs; and Developing or recommending policies, goals, operating procedures, or performance measures for disaster assistance programs; and Conducting research and analyzing trends to propose alternative strategies or solutions to improve program effectiveness specific to disaster recovery, resilience, or risk reduction; and Preparing analytical reports, briefings, or planning documents for senior leadership; These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Generally, time in Non-Pay status as a federal employee is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed above. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 07/28/2026.
