Major duties

You will participate in Program Plan development and updates, working groups, focus teams, and other forms of Integrated Product Teams. You will direct support to the shipyard during design, fabrication, installation, and test of Shipboard Systems equipment. You will work closely with the SPS/SPF Shipyard Leads to ensure adequate coverage for major events and expeditious turnaround times for data requests and document approvals. You will work with SPS leadership to institute a robust training plan to ensure the SPS engineers understand the plans and processes for Columbia/Dreadnought. You will ensure the contractor developed systems are designed, fabricated, tested, and installed properly and that the product meets SSP level requirements such as the TOG, Coordination Drawings. You will ensure and provides adequate assurance that the delivered products development, qualification, and production acceptance processes, as defined in the project Master Test and Evaluation Program Plan. You will analyze design artifacts, problem reports, process metrics, and field data for trends, which indicate design, R and M or QA problems. You will negotiate differences of opinion and/or, as the situation requires, direct compliance.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience as a professional engineer in system design, program planning, program evaluation, system design, requirements analysis, complex electronic systems and the ability to demonstrate strong oral communication skills.
