POLICE OFFICER
What you'd do
You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER of NAVBASE SAN DIEGO SEC DET.
Major duties
You will perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment such as radar, breathalyzer, and must be qualified/certified in these specialized areas. You will conduct investigative stops, questions, detains, and take appropriate action to resolve incidents as required. You will use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to fuse intelligence and establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information. You will perform a full range of force protection, anti-terrorism and sentry duties at installations or activities with significant operational assets, unrestricted access points, large populations onboard and around the installation/activity. You will operate, monitor, and assess sensor systems for the command You will defend installation personnel, equipment, and resources from terrorist threats or hostile attacks.
What you need to qualify
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. GS-04 Your resume must demonstrate at least 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience independently handling a range of law enforcement duties, including investigating minor crimes, managing traffic incidents, and enforcing laws and regulations with progressively less supervision. Experience exercising judgment in resolving common incidents. Experience implementing anti-terrorism, physical security, and investigative techniques, sufficient to conduct preliminary inquiries and support higher-level investigations. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. "Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 months of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.
