What you'd do

You will serve as a SECRETARY (OA) in the OFFICE OF THE COMMAND SUITE of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.

Major duties

You will convey written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. You will demonstrate ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. You will perform work such as preparing, receiving, reviewing, and verifying documents, maintaining office records; locating and compiling data or information from files; compiling information for reports. You will keep a calendar and informing others of deadlines and other important dates, and similar clerical support work within an organization. You will understand and interpret technical material, rules, regulations, and instructions as it applies to specific situations. You will have knowledge of office automation hardware and software systems combined with the typing skills of a fully qualified typist to use computers or related data processing technology to perform routine clerical work.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Correct grammar use, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; 2.) Utilize substantive programs as they relate to administrative and clerical support functions such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and 3.) Perform substantial range of functions such as generating table of contents, importing graphs or databases, creating glossaries, aligning multiple columns, printing, and creating official memorandums. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
