What you'd do

You will serve as a MOLDER in the Production Division of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

Responsible for the construction of the mold from the layout and assembly to the pouring of the product. Construct molds and cores out of various materials including cement bonded silica sand and Linocure no-bake. You will fabricate intricate proto-type molds out of various sands, synthetics and cement. You will align the wooden pattern to the most useable application. Operates various foundry equipment such as the cement mixer mill, the Palmer no-bake mixer, horizontal/vertical centrifugal casting machines, and the diamond wire rope saw You will have a direct hand in the layout and installation the gating system used in mold manufacture for castings.
