What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Comptroller Department (01), Budget Division (011), Corporate Budget Branch (0111) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.

Major duties

You will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to a team of financial professionals. You will ensure consistent financial practices, strong internal controls, accurate financial reporting, and effective business support is executed by the team across the organization. You will foster collaboration between Comptroller and the department business units, ensuring the financial operations support team is in alignment with NSWC IHD’s and the Navy’s strategic and financial goals. You will lead, mentor, and develop a geographically and functionally distributed team of financial support liaisons. You will establish clear performance expectations, goals and metrics and conduct regular performance reviews. You will provide guidance on complex financial issues, cost estimating, tracking execution and compliance matters.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading or coordinating financial work to include utilizing financial management systems or tools (e.g., Navy ERP) to analyze complex financial issues, develop solutions, and execute a budget for an organization.
