What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER (Operations Deputy Division Head) in the Nuclear Refueling Engineering Division, Nuclear Engineering Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major duties

You will be responsible for the management, planning and execution of the overall reactor plant refueling program for a specific nuclear submarine. You will be responsible for specifying the refueling requirements necessary to satisfactorily perform all refueling work for which the Nuclear Engineering Department is responsible. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of detailed refueling procedures and provides engineering supervision for performance of these procedures.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of refueling operations of pressurized water reactor plants including reactor theory. Experience applying administrative procedures to be followed in planning, executing, and controlling refueling operations performed during the course of a refueling. Experience preparing shipyard for capability of refueling of reactor plants for nuclear powered submarines.
