CONTRACT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Contracting Department within PAE Munitions of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Major duties
You will pre-award and post-award procedures to plan and conduct the contracting process from the description of the requirements through contract delivery, requiring a knowledge of two or more contract functions You will be responsible for assignments characterized by broad and intense efforts, and involve several phases being pursued with the support of technical, procurement, program, and management personnel within and outside the organization. You will analyze and evaluate procurement issues to identify the scope of the problems and to reach decisions on appropriate courses of action from experienced judgement You will work concerns areas where little or no established practices or precedents are available to assist in problem solving, where progress is difficult, and where new techniques and approaches need to be devised. You will be responsible for procurement systems which require analyses and evaluation of approaches to establish solutions; or the development of concepts, theories, or programs which influence the procedures and ideas of others or resolve problems. You will coordinate and liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, and contractors in DoD, other government organizations, and industry.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent)grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional contract specialist performing contracting functions (e.g. cost/price analysis, negotiations, solicitations, pre and post award processes, procurement, or contractor performance) for an organization to ensure compliance with established laws or contract terms and requirements.
