SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DIVISION of the NAVAL ACADEMY.
Major duties
You will manage and supervise complex custom information technology (IT) design, development, modification and support of educational, professional, and administrative services in a college/university environment. You will originate technical approaches for advanced automation concepts to provide users detailed system analysis, design and requirements for technical solutions based on these concepts. You will consult with customers to identify and specify requirements for developing overall functional and IT systems requirements and specifications to translate functional and technical requirements into designs and technical solutions. You will ensure the rigorous application of information security information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the systems analysis and development processes. You will manage all aspects of IT projects from inception to successful completion including development of a formal, written project plan that includes a plan of action and milestones (POAM).
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilize complex IT (ERP) systems in an academic setting; 2) Utilize and apply software development methodologies; 3) Provide analytical processes to the planning, design, development, modification, documentation, testing, implementation operational and maintenance support of new or existing information technology; 4) Troubleshoot network problems and maintain configuration management plans; 5) Reallocate resources and recommend components to improve and optimize overall system performance.
