About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Resource Management Directorate, J-8, and it is located in Falls Church, Virginia. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Major duties
Ensure enterprise-level management controls governing financial transactions and reporting operate effectively across the Defense Health Program (DHP) and Medicare-Eligible Retiree Health Care Fund (MERHCF). Coordinate with financial reporting components to ensure required audit trail exists per required regulations and Defense Health Agency (DHA) guidance. Develop and implement DHA-wide financial management policies, internal control frameworks, and governance standards impacting enterprise operations. Direct enterprise financial systems integration, ensuring compliance with federal financial management standards and resolving systemic deficiencies impacting auditability. Evaluate DHA progress and assertion status as it related to financial systems.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing financial data, conducting audit readiness activities, utilizing financial management or accounting systems, and providing recommendations to management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
