What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST (Director, Security Programs) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

Major duties

You will serve as the NAVSEA Director of Security Programs, Security Officer, Security Manager, Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Officer, Operations Security Officer and Staff CMS Responsibility Officer. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of security policies and strategies for the uniform application of all relevant DoD and DoN program requirements throughout NAVSEA. You will direct staff studies and preparation of special reports to advise command and senior management officials of the status of security programs throughout NAVSEA and the DoN. You will ensure information is properly classified under the authority of Executive Order 12958 and is protected from unauthorized disclosure. You will ensure policies and procedures protect NAVSEA interests from terrorism. You will ensure appointment or retention of military and civilian employees and granting access to classified information or assignment to other sensitive duties is clearly consistent with the interests of national security. You will ensure contractors are cleared to the level required for contract performance, have required special access authorizations and stowage capability, and have correct security classification guidance based on work requirements. You will ensure the protection of the NAVSEA Headquarters and affiliated PAE/DRPM facilities. You will ensure NAVSEA maintains a viable loss prevention program, and security incidents are properly reported and investigated. You will provide security program oversight and assessment of program effectiveness throughout NAVSEA. You will ensure NAVSEA applies the process of denying adversaries information, capabilities and intentions by identifying, controlling, and protecting indicators associated with planning/conduct of military operations and other sensitive activities.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector advising on security programs to provide for the development, implementation and oversight of security policies and strategies.
