This vacancy is for a WG - 2805-8,Electrical Worker located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY PORTSMOUTH in PORTSMOUTH, Virginia.
Major duties
You will serve as an Electrical Worker and be responsible for checking all types of electrical equipment and evaluating circuitry required to power the equipment of USCG shore and ship units. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Receiving work orders, oral instructions, and wiring diagrams that indicate the nature of the repair or installation to be made. Locating broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual checks or through the use of a small variety of test equipment. Completing needed repairs to installed systems, and rearranging and hooking up items such as outlets, switches, light fixtures, regulators, and circuit breakers. Locating grounds, shorts, overloads, and making limited repairs. Receiving the layout and placement of circuitry, fixtures, controls, and the types of wiring, parts, and equipment installed.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
